The activity we call "skydiving" can be most directly linked to France in the late 18th century.
The first parachute jump in history was made by André-Jacques Garnerin, the inventor of the parachute, who on 22 October 1797 tested his contraption by leaping from a hydrogen balloon 3,200 feet (980 m) above Paris.
This started the popularization of parachuting, and in the transition from balloons as base platforms to airplanes, American parachutist Tiny Broadwick was the first woman to jump from a plane at the beginning of the 20th century. Skydiving is an exact science of fall rates and air flow, controlling freefall to the inch.
Skydiving is considered to be a life-changing sport and a Powerful experience.
It can bring feelings of total Calm, Freedom, Bliss, Focus, Confidence, a Spiritual Experience, etc..
