Edinburgh By Car Soundtrack
Sunday January 6, 2019 / New & News
Jamie grew up in Glasgow Scotland which is just about 40 minutes from Edinburgh, so we (Jamie & Eli) were excited to apply a soundtrack to this clip of Edinburgh by car at night. This clip is a time-lapse video so it's very fast-paced. Rock music is always a great choice for fast-paced action and here we used rock in standard 4-4 time but the Beats Per Minute (BPM) is up around 180 which is about as fast as music goes. Classical rock instruments include guitars (electric and acoustic), bass and drums. There is also sometimes a keyboard or organ used, but we didn't use that in this case - just good old fashioned three-piece rock and roll!
Another type of video content where rock music is often heard is in sports because rock matches the competitiveness and tension that is inherent in sports. If you watch ESPN for 10 minutes you will likely see some upcoming game promotions using a rock music soundtrack. Here is an ESPN promo for college football that uses 'Centuries' from Fall Out Boy as the backdrop, a great song that really gets us charged up:
Edinburgh as a city has the flare of famous historical sights such as the Edinburgh Castle, and also a great entertainment and nightlife scene. One of our favorite musical scenes in Edinburgh is the Tattoo, which is an annual series of military tattoos performed by British Armed Forces, Commonwealth and international military bands, and artistic performance teams on the esplanade of Edinburgh Castle. It is really an amazing combination of music and visual scenes together, just like the soundtrack business. Here is a trailer clip to give you a feeling for what the Tattoo is like:
We would love to hear about any projects you are working on and recommend some tracks from our stock catalog for you, or talk about creating a custom piece exclusive to your content. We pride ourselves on personal service to make sure you get the track that fits perfectly with your video or film. We've also just kicked off a "New Year, New Pricing" effort to make almost all of our stock tracks very affordable at $6 to $10 per track.
Thanks for reading and #KeepCreating out there,
